A NEW CONCERT PIANO DUO
ON THE MOVE – LES DEUX

Long Island, New York – June 16, 2009 – The fact that there was no spot available for Les Deux to participate in the arts festival was not the reason for James’ disappointment. When he finally got a hold of Mary Pentecost, Program Director, Huntington Arts Council, and responsible for the roster of the 44th Huntington Arts Festival, the first thing she asked of Les Deux was "Do you have a press release?" This is the kind of a moment when a brave child (probably an Asian child in this case), thinking that he is old enough to be considered independent, goes into the kitchen and takes 2 hours cooking chicken curry, making a mess out of the kitchen, and realizes that he forgot to do the rice.

So here is the rice:
A new concert piano duo Les Deux announces its first official, off-campus public recital.

And here is the chicken curry:
IDA K. LANG RECITAL HALL of HUNTER COLLEGE (North Building, 4th Floor) on 6.25.2009, Thursday at 8 PM (Admission: Free/Donations at will).

The pleasant and enjoyable show, which the duo promises, will include an exciting program of works by some of today’s most popular classical composers:

Piazzolla - Tangos

Ravel - La Valse
Bolcom - Garden of Eden (Four Rags for Two Pianos)
Rachmaninoff - Suite No.2, Op.17

James Jee and Winnie Yang, both currently candidates for Doctor of Musical Arts at SUNY Stony Brook, hold degrees from the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music and Oberlin Conservatory. The previous experiences of the pianists include performances throughout U.S and Asia, including New York, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Netherlands, Washington D.C, and San Francisco, on such stages as Alice Tully Hall, The Juilliard Theatre, The Staller Center for the Arts, Keumho Arts Center of South Korea, Interlochen Public Radio, Sun Yet-Hsien Memorial Hall of Taiwan, Emerson String Quartet Chamber Music Festival, International Music Festival in Netherlands and Seoul National University Concert Hall, to name some.

So, no better way to give yourself a chance to be lost into the minutes of pleasure, away from the tiresome hours of contemplation on reality - come and listen to what may be an incredibly pleasant surprise!
